A deeply restorative wellness experience rooted in authentic Hawaiian traditions.
Enhance your stay at Volcano Inn with a traditional Hawaiian Lomi Lomi experience designed to restore balance, release tension, and reconnect mind, body, and spirit.
Since the 1980s, our resident practitioner has studied directly with Hawaiian healers, teachers, and cultural wisdom keepers on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. These teachings include traditional styles of lomi massage, ho’oponopono, la’au lapa’au, and other Hawaiian healing practices passed down through generations.
More than a massage, Lomi Lomi is a deeply grounding and restorative experience that may incorporate flowing hands-on techniques, prayer, affirmations, and elements of traditional Hawaiian healing.
Surrounded by the peaceful rainforest atmosphere of Volcano, this experience offers guests a unique opportunity to slow down, reconnect, and experience a deeper sense of relaxation during their stay.

My favorite stay in the big island. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was delicious. Location was super close to the volcano park. The rooms were very clean and homey. Definitely would stay here again.
Really lovely little eco-lodge inn with a friendly and helpful owner 10 minutes from the national park. Rooms are simple and comfortable with pretty bedspreads, soft blankets and carved gecko wall art my daughter loved. Breakfast is delicious papaya boats and banana bread, coffee and juice from 7-9. Beautiful breakfast space looking over the tree ferns surrounding the home. The accessible room in the main house has helpful accommodations, desk, little dining space with a microwave and mini fridge, and a tv. Our other room (with big beautiful windows) is mainly a bed, chair and restroom. Could have used a desk in there and more clothes hangers and it would have been perfect. The hot tub looks like it needs a good cleaning, and we had quite a few flying insects in our room the first night, but no more got in afterwards. I mean, it is in the tropics so not surprising. Main issue is the rooster kept in a cage out behind the parking lot, crowing every morning at 5-7am. I was so tired already, he really did me in. No one else in my party noticed but I’m a light sleeper.
Great setting, clean rooms, nice common areas. Banana bread served for breakfast was great. Only giving 4 stars because general instructions were not very detailed and I had to wanter around the property wondering where things were. My request to the host is to be more descriptive in the materials given to guests. In addition to the check in instructions: “Your Welcome Envelope with your name will be waiting upstairs in the Hale Loa (Big House)”, add ” the Hale Loa is the first building on the left when you enter the driveway. Follow the signs for the office upstairs, then enter the common area with the green couches. The envelopes will be in a bowl on the table between the couches.”
And instead of making me look for the potable water source, it would be easier if you told us “potable water can be found in the common area via a white tap just next to the kitchen door”.
Hosts were not difficult to reach by text message. Overall very nice place with very nice hosts, just a little more instructions would be helpful.
We stayed for two nights and loved it! It is a very different vibe staying here opposed to a typical hotel. We had beautiful rain foresty views from our windows. It was lovely listening to the rain during the night. We were surprised by a room upgrade for our anniversary trip which was so sweet! The host was very kind upon check in. The hot tub was always open and the location was amazing as far as being close to the volcano national park. My only complaint would be that the walls are pretty thin as far hearing your neighbors, but that can’t be helped. I think you just need to make sure to realize that you’re staying at a B&B type place that is going to be different than staying at big chain hotel. We really enjoyed the difference. Definitely would stay here again!
Wonderful stay at the Volcano Inn. The owner is amazing and was super accommodating in moving the dates I had originally booked for ones sooner as I changed my itinerary around. It’s a quick 5-10 min drive to the National Park and perfect for someone who wants a quiet room that isn’t too luxury based. Great deals on price and if I come back to this Park, this will be my go to! Highly recommend!
Also- the papaya and banana bread in the morning are such a wonderful way to start your day!
If you’re checking out Volcano National Park then this is a primo spot to stay. The owner is super nice, the location is amazing, it’s gorgeous all around the property, the eating area is so charming, and the price is great. The only downside is the rooms are basically the room at your house. Which if you’re not expecting luxury then it is more than comfortable.
Staff were friendly and accommodating, ensuring that our anniversary evening was a success! Room was comfortable and flush with necessities. Pet friendly “Lava Room” for the win!
The homemade banana bread and papaya boats for breakfast was perfect before beginning our drive back home. Mahalo for the experience and we can’t wait to come back!
